When we overseed: Within 24 hours of aeration, we broadcast premium seed into the open plugs — the single most effective seeding method for thin or damaged lawns. Seed-to-soil contact is maximized in the extracted holes.
The Golden Window for Martha's Vineyard
While spring aeration is beneficial, late August through October is the optimal window for the Vineyard's climate. Soil temperatures remain above 50°F for germination, while cooler air and increased rainfall reduce seedling stress.
